Terms of use
The rules for using this site, downloading the software, and publishing addons in the gallery.
By using this site you agree to these terms. The site is run by Riøt (RiotTheClanker on GitHub), called "we" below. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Weather safety comes first
Software and downloads
Taa'a Yuku Radar, ProtoFace and the AnimFile Maker are open source. Each is licensed under the license in its own GitHub repository (Taa'a Yuku Radar under the MIT License), and those licenses govern your use of the software.
Flashing firmware to your own hardware, including with the online flasher, is at your own risk. Check that you've picked the right board and version.
Accounts
You sign in with your GitHub account, which is also subject to GitHub's terms. You're responsible for what is published under your account. You must be old enough to have a GitHub account (13, or older where your local law requires).
Addons you publish
You keep ownership of what you upload. By publishing an addon, you give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive license to store, copy, display and distribute it (and its screenshots) on this site, for as long as it's published, and you let anyone who downloads it use it with the radar app. We never change your file: people download exactly what you uploaded.
When you publish, you confirm that:
- you have the right to share everything in it, including any data or map layers it points to, under their providers' terms;
- it contains no passwords, API keys or tokens (the site refuses files with a
headersobject for this reason, but checking the rest is up to you); - it contains no one else's personal information without their permission.
The first person to publish an id owns it, and only they can publish new versions under it. We may reclaim an id that impersonates someone else or is used to mislead.
Rules for addons
Don't publish an addon that:
- breaks the law, or infringes anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- imitates official warnings or government sources in a way that could mislead people about danger;
- points the app at servers meant to track, attack or harm the people who install it, or at content that is illegal to access;
- exposes private places or personal details (such as someone's home) without their consent, harasses anyone, or promotes hate or violence;
- impersonates another person, project or organisation;
- is spam, or floods the gallery with near-copies.
Don't try to get around upload limits, the file checks or sign-in, or put unreasonable load on the site.
Addons made by other people
Addons in the gallery, other than the ones marked Official, are made by their uploaders, not by us. The site checks every file automatically, but nobody reviews them by hand before they go live. An addon makes the app contact the servers its author chose, and those servers may see your IP address. Install addons you trust, and report anything that looks wrong.
Moderation
We can remove any addon, or stop anyone from publishing, at any time and for any reason, including a report we find credible. Use the Report button on an addon's page, or contact us.
Copyright and takedowns
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice through the contact options below with:
- the work you believe is infringed;
- the page or install link of the material (for example
/addons/some-id.json); - your name and how to reach you;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner, or authorised to act for the owner, under penalty of perjury;
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).
We'll remove or disable material that is the subject of a valid notice, and tell the uploader. If you uploaded it and think the notice is a mistake, you can send a counter-notice with the same kind of details, including your consent to the jurisdiction of the relevant court. We may restore the material if the person who complained doesn't take legal action. We remove the accounts of repeat infringers.
No warranty, and limits on liability
The site, the software and the addons are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage from using or being unable to use them, including decisions made from weather data. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
The site may change or stop at any time. We may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
